The Great Peace

General Eman had more success elsewhere on the line and his infantry had opened up a temporary breach in the enemy defenses. Tillo, Sauc, and Shao loaded up with supplies and mounts and departed through the breach and moved into the rebel capital.

The city had been emptied by orders of the fleeing rebel government. The detectives walked through the haunting streets of the burning city around them before coming into a plaza where a green-clad woman sat overlooking them from a ruined restaurant.

The detectives and Civil War began their great battle. Shao's diving pig mount was slain in the early stages. Tillo made several healing surges. Sauc pulled out all of her strongest maneuvers. As the detectives found their strength failing and Civil War's only growing stronger, they fell back to their final attack.

Tillo distracted Civil War with his bat. Shao made a desperate prayer to Aigiarne- the divinized half-demon recently slain- before grasping the Ancient Blade and unsheathing it for the first time in two years.

Sauc positioned the moon between the earth and the sun and cast darkness over her adversary. Shao charged forward. Sauc threw the belt of the Great Peacemaker toward him. Shao caught the belt, lashed it around Civil War, and dodged her attacks.

Tillo could feel the green stain on his hand grow more painful. Sauc sang the song of The Great Peace to the disdain of the demon before her. A massive cloud of smoke exploded in the plaza and when the ash cleared- Shao was alone. Tillo, Civil War, and Sauc had been sucked into the belt which now lay on the cobblestone streets of the rebel capital. Shao strode over to the belt, hid it deep inside his baggage, and walked away.

The demon that cursed the world with civil wars for nearly a century was finally defeated by an elf, a dark gnome, and a drow- three individuals who began their quest on a mission to bodyguard a newly elected politician, and whose last was to slay a demonic being. Shao returned to his office at the Pinker's Detective Agency and brought news of Sauc's and Tillo's deaths.
