Dead Island

After the vents of the hydra attack, the party began establishing a new organization with the Black Knight which would check the power of the League and attempt to salvage the latter's original goal of preventing any large-scale disasters in the realm. While Hood traveling to meet with Swamp Thing, Atom and Sorcerer traveled to Southern Hattun.

There, the Black Knight requested the party investigate the League's Emerald Knight and find out where the latter's loyalties lay. After stopping at the local goblin market, the party met up with Emerald Knight and left to check out an island where the local governor had lost contact with the outside world.

Along the journey, Atom engaged in a friendly drinking game with Emerald Knight while Sorcerer investigated correspondence between the emerald Knight and the League.

When the ship finally reached the island's harbor, the heroes found the shore empty and the island covered in fog. The three explored the island quietly, noticing the aftermath of some kind of monster attack along their way to the halfling temple nearby. After a greeting from the local ghouls eating their halfling victims inside the temple, the party raced to the governor's compound nearby and barricaded themselves inside.

At the compound, more ghouls poured out of the buildings and interrupted the emerald Knight's arcane blockade at the north entrance- allowing more ghouls to enter. Sorcerer nearly perished when one ghoul buried its venomous teeth deep in the hero's neck. Quick thinking on the part of Atom saved the warlock however, but the situation was worsening rapidly.

As the heroes slowly found themselves backed up against a wall by the incoming ghouls, Atom read a piece of graffiti written in halfling on the wall of one of the buildings that read "Night Marchers." Sorcerer remembered a halfling folkatale from his days at the wizardry school. The Night Marchers were a group of phantoms created by Puia when she pulled the Fire Islands out of the ocean as a self-defense against the agents of the three demons. The party would only need to last until dusk when the Night Marchers would arrive to do battle with the ghouls.

The heroes battled with renewed will until the sun set and the Night Marchers arrived. Then, the party raced towards Emerald Knight's ship as Night Marchers and ghouls battled around them. Once on the ship, the Sorcerer caused a minor tremor on the island to dislodge the ghouls chasing them on the dock. After escaping the island, the Atom and Sorcerer attempted to sink the island under the waves, but instead crippled the ship. Emerald Knight made the two repair his ship.
